Herculaneum, enroute to Naples

On this transfer tour we will provide you with transportation in a luxury Mercedes sedan or van and an English speaking driver, but we would highly recommend a local tour guide at the archaeological site of Herculaneum, to give you a 2 hours guided tour for a more in-depth and memorable experience.

A visit to Herculaneum is a trip not to be missed, Herculaneum has been preserved like no other site in the world, not even the  nearby Pompeii. The city was buried beneath 16 meters of ash and rocks during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD , the city is named after the mythical Greek god, Hercules, who according to the legend told by Dionysius of Halicarnassus, founded the city in 1243 BC. During the Roman Empire becomes  a popular summer resort for many of Rome’s patrician families, so up till today you can admire such a lavish decoration in marble, mosaics on the floor in many of the Vilas that you can visit in this marvellous ancient city.

After the visit, drive to Naples, drop off at your hotel.
