Civitavecchia Shore Excursion: Best of Rome Without The Vatican – Private Tour

The Standard Rome Shore Excursion Tour is designed to cover the city major sites in one day escorted by a private driver guide. In this tour you will be touring the city in comfortable luxury minivan that can take you right next to the monument you’re going to visit, so you’ll definitely going to see much more and walk much less than if you’re taking big group tour in a bus. Also the tour is flexible so that you can change your itinerary as you like with your driver guide who can give the right suggestions according to your needs.

Tour Description

right in front of the boat exit door your driver will be waiting for you with a sign that your name will be written on it, the drive to Rome would take about 90 min. Once you arrive to the center of Rome, we’ll start our day with an interesting visit to the ancient part of the city. Walk on the original cobblestone streets and learn about the life of the ancient Romans. You will get privileged access to the Colosseum then we would have a great panoramic view for the Roman Forum, Palatine Hill and of course circus Maximus where the famous movie ‘’ Ben Hur ‘’ has been shot, then we’ll continue to visit the beautiful Trevi fountain, the Spanish steps, the pantheon and more. After this first part of our day we would stop for lunch  which can either be a nice typical Italian  meal in a local restaurant or something quick on the way (if you want to save some time here and dedicated to see more things on your tour !). Your driver would be glad to give suggestions and take to the right place according to your preferences. After lunch we would continue our tour visiting other sites such as the beautiful fountain of the four rivers (a masterpiece of Bernini) situated in the enchanting piazza Navona , and then we’ll continue to visit the famous via Appia (one of the most ancient military roads ever built by the Romans) and the catacomb. That would be the last part of your tour, so from here your driver will drive back to the ship; you would get to the port of Civitavecchia around 5:00 PM.

*since it is a private tour so the itinerary is flexible and you can change it as you want , your driver will always give you the right suggestions according to your preference .

*Please note: Due to strict Italian laws & regulations that protect officially licensed guides, our drivers can only comment and explain the sights from inside the vehicle, and are not allowed to do so once they are outside the vehicle. A Professional licensed guide, where needed, can be hired on request at an extra cost. ( 150 euro for 2,5 hours guided walking tour to the Colosseum & the roman forum  )
